Providence, Rhode Island, is mourning the loss of one of its most beloved musical voices. Paul Bedrosian, longtime DJ at the iconic Hot Club and a cherished member of the city’s vibrant music scene, has died. Known affectionately as “Pauly” by friends and fans alike, his passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew him.

The Hot Club, where Paul regularly performed, shared a heartfelt tribute to their friend and colleague:

“The Hot Club lost one of our own yesterday. Paul Bedrosian has been part of the HC family for years. He would always come in early with a huge smile to chat and check in with everyone before DJ’ing. He has been part of the music scene in Providence forever and the impact of his loss will be profound. One of the nicest guys you will have ever met. He loved his Reggae and loved sharing that love with others.”

Paul was more than a DJ—he was a connector of people, a purveyor of joy, and a steadfast presence behind the turntables and in the community. Known for his contagious smile and warm spirit, he had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Whether he was spinning records, catching up with staff before a set, or simply checking in on friends, Paul embodied a spirit of genuine kindness and positivity that few could match.

Music was Paul’s love language, and reggae was his heartbeat. He didn’t just play tracks—he lived them. He saw music as a way to bring people together, to inspire, and to uplift. His sets were more than entertainment—they were experiences that left people feeling seen, energized, and united. He had an intuitive sense for what a crowd needed and gave it to them with rhythm, passion, and an infectious joy.

One of Paul’s last messages to a friend read, “Teamwork makes the dream work,” a phrase that perfectly captures the philosophy he brought to every aspect of his life. He believed in collaboration, in supporting one another, and in building something meaningful together. That mindset wasn’t just a motto—it was how he lived, worked, and treated everyone around him.

Beyond the music, Paul was a devoted family man. He is survived by his partner, Brittany, and their young son. The Hot Club’s tribute asked the community to hold them close in thought and love:

“Please send his family good thoughts and love right now, especially to Brittany & their little boy.”

In every sense, Paul Bedrosian was the soul of a community. His loss will be deeply felt not just by the regulars at the Hot Club, but by the broader Providence scene that he helped shape for years. His legacy lives on in every beat he dropped, every smile he shared, and every person he lifted through music and friendship.

Rest in peace, Pauly. Your light and your soundtrack will echo through Providence forever.
