As shared by friend Pete Farr, “Rachel lit up every space she walked into. She had this energy that made people feel seen, heard, and cared for. Her laugh, her compassion, her way of lifting people up—even when she was carrying heavy things of her own—was something rare.” Though outwardly vibrant, those closest to Rachel reflect with regret that they did not always recognize the struggles she faced. Pete’s words remind us of the importance of checking in with friends—especially those who appear strong on the outside.

Rachel cherished her roles beyond the workplace—she was a daughter, sister, friend, and mother. A tribute posted by Mckenzie Herron on Rachel’s fundraiser page reads:

“Rachel was a friend, sister, daughter, a Nama, and mother. On the morning of July 25, she unexpectedly and tragically left us… She was a beautiful, smart, dependable, empathetic soul and I have so many questions. We can at least do this. We will all be forever broken.”

Her warm presence extended to all facets of her personal life—deeply loved by family, friends, and colleagues alike. Rachel approached relationships with empathy, loyalty, and authenticity.

In her role as a Delivery Coach, Rachel was known for her mentorship, patience, and infectious positivity. She helped others navigate their work with encouragement and clarity, inspiring her team and colleagues with equal parts professionalism and care. Though Rachel may no longer be with us, her impact continues to reverberate through the lives and careers she touched.

In response to her passing, a fundraiser was established to support her family and to help provide a fitting farewell. Mckenzie’s message continued:

“…We will need help to do right by her giving her a beautiful funeral. If you also love Rachel and feel this way, here’s a way to help.”

The generosity of those donating speaks to the depth of community affection for Rachel. From local friends to long-distance admirers, many have responded with open hearts, committed to honoring her legacy and supporting those she left behind.

Pete Farr’s reflection carries a poignant reminder:

“Check on your strong friends. Check on your quiet friends. Check on the ones who are always ‘doing fine.’”

Rachel’s story underscores the often-hidden battles even the brightest spirits may face. Her journey reminds us that love, empathy, and presence matter—in both good times and the most challenging ones.

Rachel Schumacher will be remembered for her radiant laughter, unwavering kindness, and ability to connect with others. She lifted spirits, offered comfort, and made countless individuals feel less alone. Her death leaves an emptiness that reflects how deeply she was valued and how many lives she impacted.

As friends and family honor her memory, may we all strive to extend Rachel’s legacy—through acts of compassion, deeper listening, and genuine care for the people around us. Though Rachel may be gone, the warmth she radiated continues. May she rest in peace, her memory inspiring us to live with greater empathy, awareness, and love.
