His dedication was honored in 2024 when he received the Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association’s Coach of the Year award, a recognition of his leadership, mentorship, and genuine care for young athletes.

Ross was known for blending strength with empathy. As a coach, he shaped the character of countless students and athletes, emphasizing resilience, sportsmanship, and personal growth. His influence extended beyond coaching; he was equally committed at home as a devoted husband and a hands-on father, always present for his children with love, humor, and encouragement.

Born and raised in Anoka, Ross remained rooted in his community throughout his life. Outside of sports, he worked in local contracting and landscaping, earning trust and friendship wherever he went. Colleagues and neighbors remember him as someone whose warmth, reliability, and easygoing nature brightened daily life.
