The community of Port Jervis, New York, is mourning the loss of Randy Wilson, a beloved father, friend, and vibrant member of the community. Known for his humor, warmth, and the countless memories he created with those around him, Randy’s passing has left a profound impact on all who knew and loved him.

Randy passed away recently, and while his death leaves an irreplaceable void, his family is committed to honoring his memory in the way he would have wanted. His daughter, Jessica Marchant, shared a heartfelt message regarding his final wishes and the plans to celebrate his life.

“My dad wanted to be cremated, so that’s what I’m going to do,” Jessica wrote. “I’m keeping his ashes.” She went on to express the overwhelming love and friendship Randy shared with so many, saying, “My dad wanted a celebration of life with all of his friends, family, and loved ones. I look forward to giving him that—but right now, I need time to grieve.”

Jessica’s message echoes the collective sentiment of all who were touched by Randy’s life. Known for his stories, laughter, and loyal friendship, Randy was the kind of person who brought people together. He was a man who made an impression not just for what he did, but for how he made others feel—appreciated, seen, and cared for.

“My Dad has a ton of friends,” Jessica continued, “and I look forward to sitting around and telling ‘Randy stories’ with all of you. That’s what he would have wanted—and I look forward to the laughs.” It’s clear that Randy Wilson was a man who left behind a rich legacy, not in material things, but in the joy and memories he gave to others.

Though formal services and a celebration of life have not yet been scheduled, Jessica made it clear that when the time is right, there will be a proper remembrance—a time for loved ones to come together, laugh, share stories, and honor Randy’s life in the way he deserved. Friends are encouraged to pass along her message and be part of the future gathering.

“Friends of my Dad—please pass this message along,” she wrote. “I hope each and every one of you will come and celebrate the life of Randy Wilson. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, sent food, brought groceries, or stopped by for a hug. Your kindness is so appreciated and so healing.”

Randy Wilson is survived by his daughter, Jessica Marchant; grandson Henry Marchant; Tami Wilson; Mark and Bettina Krause; Jordan Guinn; and Cara Stevens. Each of them carries forward a part of his spirit and story.

In the words of those who knew him best, Randy was more than just a man—he was a connection, a smile, a memory, and a friend. His life may have ended, but his stories, his laughter, and his love live on in all who were lucky enough to know him.
